One of the most engaging ways for your students to understand scientific inquiry or cause/effect… through critical thinking!
A must-have for every science classroom!
Two “sticks”, each looking like a magic wand, are held side by side in the same hand. A long tasseled string hangs from the end of one stick. When a tassel on the other stick is pulled downward, the long tasseled string rises. This action is repeated. When one tassel is pulled down, the opposite one rises. Of course, it makes sense that the two sticks are somehow joined together. But, you separate the two sticks, proving that there is no connection between them! Yet, they continue to behave with the same action… even when separated! They will even do the same when you hold one in each hand. Finally, you hold one stick in your hand and the other one under your arm. You pull one tassel down, and the other still rises… continuing to defy any logical explanation!
Your students will believe the two wands are somehow joined together, yet that’s impossible!
Easy to master- you’ll be showing this trick the day after you get it!
